Jude’s asked us to look for shadows, so I had a trawl through my archives.
I’m quite keen on a good shadow for a bit of atmosphere these days, but it wasn’t always the case, and I would do anything to avoid them….now I know what I was missing.
I love a good long shadow in the early morning:

You could call that series “coming out of the Shadows” 😊
Indeed, thanks!
These are great, but the railings one is the most fun. A nice varied selection!
Thanks, Margaret, glad you enjoyed!
These are all excellent Sue. I knew you would come up with some brilliant pictures.
Thanks, Jude…but I should have included one of my Still Life images as well, using shadows to frame
Well there are a few more weeks so hopefully you will be able to, in fact next week is a series of images throughout the day so that might work well.
Hmmm…
Exactly what I was going to say!!!
Well, thank you Becky! You’ve both made me feel uplifted for today!
😀
PS Hope the sunshine has arrived at yours too to make it a good Monday all day xxx
Yes, it has!
Excellent Sue, you are the shadow expert. A great gallery
Thank you!
Do these make you a shadow of your former self? 😉. I knew you’d have some good ones.
Well, I am in some ways a shadow of m6 former self, Janet….but stronger in others
A great selection!
Many thanks, Andrew!
Good selections, Sue. But then I knew you had so many to choose from. 🙂
Best wishes, Pete.
Yep!
Very excellent shadows, Sue, and good to see the first two again – v. atmospheric.
Many thanks, Tish!
Shadows are good, they create contrast and brings out forms and shapes. I love these images of shadows – or where shadow is an important element, as you write, for the atmosphere.
Thanks, Otto! I like a bit of atmosphere!
Noir done right!
