Lens – artists Photo Challenge # 93- Morning

Back in the day, when I was working, I was a morning person. I still am, but to a lesser extent.

Morning to me means quite a number of things, but one is coffee (and frequently a boiled egg)

when I can stir myself, I do like a good dawn image

Dawn sun

And being up early, you can see a place waking up, as here with an old lady off to fetch her morning bread in Tarascon, Provence

Tarascon, 7 am, off to the bakers

and these nuns up shortly after dawn in Córdoba

  1. Coffee, dawn, Tarascon (though I lived near different one, Tarascon-sur-Ariège), Córdoba. Perfect.

  2. I am Definately not a morning person, there are exceptions; camping in the desert being one.
Wake and the morning dew, clear sky and cold brisk air before the heat sets in…. bliss, especially with the first coffee 🙂

  3. Lots of food for thought here Sue. Loved your images and coffee is a MUST for me in the mornings! The older woman heading out for bread is a wonderful, storytelling image.

  4. Love that old lady in Provence!!!!

  5. The perfect combination, Sue.

  6. My body clock has gone haywire, not even sure what day it is?
I haven’t drunk coffee for at least twenty years, I prefer a mug of tea!

  7. Good choices for the challenge, Sue. I haven’t had to get up that early since I retired, so I don’t! 🙂
    Best wishes, Pete.

  8. Love the coffee and egg image. It’s tempting me to go back and redo breakfast.

  9. Lovely morning memories, Sue! The sun shining in on that beautifully set table is oozing with harmony.

  10. Great photos. Well done.

  11. Ana

    I’m a morning person, too 🙂

    Love the image of Tarascon.

  12. Sue, I really like your first picture with the sunlight on your table cloth and what is left from your yummy breakfast!

I admire early risers. I’m more of a sunset person myself and can count on one hand the number of times I’ve seen a sunrise, usually when I’ve had to get up early for a departure. I’m told I miss a lot and I’m willing to accept this but oh, I love my late nights when I’m reading into the wee small hours or catching up on some TV drama I’ve missed. Breakfast, at whatever hour, is always cereal and berries, from my garden in summer and from wherever I can source them in winter.
