Second Time Around

They always say tou shouldn’t return to a place as you might be disappointed second time round, but I ctually visited a little place in the Vienna in France four or five times…

Here are some images of this enchanting little village

Scene taken from the bridge through a willow, my favourite image from my first visit:

  1. I can see why you like the place so much. The water-mill shot is lovely.
    Best wishes, Pete.

  2. What a quaint village. Your images make me want to walk the streets and enjoy the day. My favorite is the view looking down from above, but I also enjoyed the composition of the image with the lady and the flowers in the foreground. Thanks for sharing!

  3. It looks charming. I love the rooftops.

  4. Nice. I like the way the first two are framed with the foreground.

Love all the images and you have captured the atmosphere so well.

  6. Gorgeous photos Sue and it looks a lovely spot.

  7. Never been to the Vienne but I can see why it captivated you. Typiquement français, cet endroit!

  8. I like the last shot – lovely light and it also reminds me of Ludlow castle.

  9. I can see why you’d go back. I would as well. Lovely place and my favorite is the first shot (I think.) 🙂

Thank you, Jo! First time was in the late ‘90s, I think. My parents had been there, prompted by ‘French Leave’ by Richard Binns, a book I also had…..back roads France. On return trips from the MSA Euroclassic with our little old sportscar we would sometimes find ourselves at Angles….

  12. Glorious images Sue – I’d never heard of this place but I can see why you love it. Truly amazing.

Such a charming place. Thank you for taking us there, Sue.

  14. some places are made for revisiting . . . I think the thing is, is not to leave too much time between visits

  15. Ah, sooo lovely, Sue. I’d love to sit there by the lamp post. ♥

  16. Oh to be there.. It is my dream to spend a few months each year in France and Ireland..

  17. My favorite is of the man looking down at the village. Its contemplative feel fits my current frame of mind.

  18. So many ‘wonderful light’ moments in these photos. Now have a big yearning for rural France.
