This week, Jude is looking for lines in a scene, specifically horizontal lines, I have had a quick rummage through my archive, and found a few images that fit:
Firstly, some wooden structures in Maramures, Romania, that are used to dry grass to make hay
Then we saw this yesterday, but it’s so horizontal it had to appear here
And lastly, this Norfolk beach and horizon:

I have see similar drying frames in Slovenia. A lovely capture Sue with those implied lines of the hills in the background. The wall definitely fits the bill perfectly, and I can never resist a seascape with a perfect horizontal horizon. Thank you!
Glad you liked these, Jude, and I think my verticals will do the trick, too!
Jude will have you in detention over that first photo. ‘Not horizontal’, she’ll say. I know. I’m in detention too.Nice to see that second photo again. Love it.
No, these were her words, Margaret “A lovely capture Sue with those implied lines of the hills in the background. “ Yay!!
I see. Teacher’s pet. That’s fine. Not jealous at all.
Margaret, you are a scream sometimes! Are you up for a Zoom call sometime??
Sure, why not? It would be good to talk. Maybe tomorrow sometime? I warn you, I’m not very good at this Zoom malarkey though.
As long as you have Zoom on your machine, I’ll send you a link and Bob’s your uncle!
Brill.
Hopefully I can do tomorrow, if not Wednesday
We’ll set a date tomorrow for …soon.
Very soon….
Ah, but her horizon is perfect! And tbh my eye was drawn to the implied horizontals of those hills.
Thanks, Jude!
I’m worried now. I have a couple of vertical shots that aren’t truly perpendicular, but they’ll look silly and rather lose the point if I get them geometrically accurate …
Don’t be worried…Jude can’t bite virtually!!
Oooh, she’s very severe though!
Don’t be a wimp
So. Have you straightened it yet? 🙄
Well, I’ve done it, using a grid, but quite honestly, I think it looks worse. I guess the dramatic sky is doing funny things to the eyes.
😳
That Norfolk beach looks familiar. 🙂
Best wishes, Pete.
Well, it should to you! I think it was Hunstanton?? But I really don’t recall
I must have seen this challenge somewhere. Sunrise over the beach is perfect for horizontals. I have heaps – but I’m selfish! No sharing. Yet. I want to take a photo like the middle one but I live in the wrong place! Where is it?
The centre one was taken of the Cobb, at Lyme Regis in Dorset. Years ago The French Lieutenants Woman was filmed there….
Excellent, especially the hay racks
Many thanks, Pauline…they were most successful
