Lens Artist’s Photo Challenge # 91: Simplicity

This prompt is right up my street, but it has taken all this time for me to put a post together!

I think of Simplicity in photographs as predominantly being an image with few components. So here goes for my take…..
First, a few early images:

And now for my attempts at ‘clean’ uncluttered Still Lifes:

And finally, decaying flowers:

  1. Beautiful shots, Sue. I especially love the tulip and the b and white. I hope you’re well and stay well! I’m glad you joined us. I was just thinking about you!

    • Sue

Oh, Patti, Thank you! The tulip is an old favourite, and the monochrome still life is a new favourite! I seem to have done very little this week, but still couldn’t find time to post this until now! I’m fine thank you, and hope you are.

  2. Funny I find my fav is your B&W Sue. But of course all are wonderful as always

  3. I love these simplified images Sue. All are perfect for this “brief” but I particularly like the monochrome book image, love the way you have added the slate slabs to tie in with the title

  4. That tulip could be mistaken for a still life painting by a Dutch realist. Lovely image.

  5. I think of you as being someone who concentrates on simplicity. And decay of course, always decay. 🙂
    Best wishes, Pete.

  6. I like that b&w, Sue. Suits the slate so well
And you’ve reminded me that I haven’t done simplicity either!

  7. Good collection of simplicity Sue 🙂

  8. The tulip should go on the wall.

  9. These are all excellent, Sue, but the tulip is my favorite.

  10. wonderful Sue, looking forward to chatting later xx

  11. I like your very different take on this challenge, Sue. I particularly like your first image: and your Dutch still life.

  12. Excellent. Scottish slate quarries? We visited one on our tour. Interesting history.

  13. I like simple images too, and #3 is my favourite here.

  14. Marvelous photos. I love that last tulip the most — simple, arched, and unique.

  15. Dear Sue,
thank you very much for sharing these minimalist pictures we like very much.
    Keep well, Happy Easter
    The Fab Four of Cley
    🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

  16. I think Number 3 is the best. You have a good eye and this is a great composition.
