To See a World in a Grain of Sand...
Just having breakfast, Sue. Nice mug for my coffee. Don’t know the book. Have a good day! 🙂 🙂
Marguerite Duras wouldn’t be known to many, I guess
I don’t know this book.
Duras is a bit ‘niche’, I guess….and I was reading those books in th early 90s
Your layout here adds to that sense of isolation
Good point, Debbie!
I don’t know the book either, but I am really enjoying this project, Sue.
Best wishes, Pete.
Well, I’m having fun creating it, so good if people enjoy as well!
A good job you have so many books! I’d be a bit short on coffee mugs, most of mine are white or have funny captions. I do have a pretty one with flowers and a black cat which serves as a pencil holder as the handle broke.
Well, I did keep a reasonable number of books when I moved, and I havre a few mugs, butt not loads
Very nice ones 😊
Books, or mugs??
Both, but I was thinking more of the mugs as you said you had fewer of them.
😊😊
Lovely composition, Sue. 🙂
Thank you, Sylvia!
Let there be light.
Fiat lux….
Veritas
😊
One of the best!
Yay!
I found myself really trying to get a sense of the book. I like the mystery of the way you placed it.
Thank you! The Little Horses of Tarquinius in the title refers to Etruscan ruins in Italy, but they are not the real subject of the book, which is more about a mood, a brief period of time in the lives of several people. Duras was good at describing the past through experiences of her characters..
I haven’t read her in years. If I can ever get to a library again I will try her again.
Ah, do you remember what you read?
No, just the name.
OK!
I really like this image, well framed.
Many thanks, Amy….it was all about harnessing the light…..
There’s nothing better than coffee and a book unless it’s hot tea and a book. Thanks for the reminder that I need to slow down more.
Well,I have had to slow down through health issues, but I must say it makes you see things more!
Love the use of space Sue 🙂
Thanks, Brian!
One of my f …. but I can’t say that! Too many. But this one is beautiful in b&w, and light and shade, and delicacy (the cloth) and boldness (the mug) – and I’m off to google the book.
Aha! Glad you like the play of light and shade, and the contrast between the cloth and mug…I feel I am starting to work with light well…..
You’re getting cleverer at this 😀
I’m so talented!! 😂🤣
