Anabel of the Glasgow Gallivanter has me inspired to trawl through my archives to find some Ghost signs!
Happening upon one of her posts recently, where she posted a number of such signs, I thought – I’ve got a few of those! Not that many, and it’ll take some doing, but a small project for the gloomy months!
So, to kick off, here’s one from Italy, a good few years ago:

Old shutters and a Ghost sign, Siena, Tuscany, Italy
I also need to try and take a couple of images from the train, where I have noticed some faded lettering.
And the fading wall colour nicely matches the sign.
I does rather!
Have you used a texture layer for this one, Sue?
My email is hannesiebers(at)gmx.de. 🙂
Stay safe in teh storm! x
No texture layer, Dina…nearly as shot 11 years ago….I spotted it from the hotel terrace, I think. How’s the storm where you are? And thanks for the email, I’ll drop you a line some day soon
That’s a good shot, we’ll done. The storm is still roaring, albeit not as strong as earlier today. It’s cosy in front of the fire 🔥 the lawn and the car outside are still covered in snow ❄️ 😊👍🏻
Snow??
I really like the colours in this one, Sue.
(We had a tremendous hailstorm here today. The fields are still white from it, and Ollie and I were soaked on our walk. 18-20 miles south of Dina and KB’s place)
Best wishes, Pete.
Ugh, wet and cold
Oh, that was a surprise to spot my name! Very colourful ghost sign.
Hope you didn’t mind the appearance of your name, Anabel!
Not at all!
😊😊😊
I like the name “ghost signs” and I liked your choice.
janet
The name was not mine, Janet, and that image was taken over a decade or more ago…and I have just a few more to hunt out!
What a great project. Looking forward to seeing your collection.
‘Collection’ sounds like there will be a lot -there aren’t!!
