I don’t know when people started thinking they had to put garbage in plastic bags. When I was a kid it all just went in the garbage can. No plastic at all.
If it went straight into the bin, the bins would need regular cleaning. Plastic comes along, and hey presto, bins are a tad cleaner, less maintenance
Well we did clean the bins. I guess you are right.
Well, can remember needing to do that, but even with plastic bags, they need doing on occasions
