I just had to have a play with words….
The scene before me was was nicely lit by the afternoon sun, and I was REALLY pleased with the limited colour palette…
So what do you think?

Very good! And I like this tiny sculpture.
Ah, the little wooden Buddha…he’s very tactile….
Pope JP in the shadow from the Chinese ornament, I think I must be on the bottle 🙂
Tee hee! The little wooden Buddha I have owned since the early’80s, it was time he did more Still Life posing!!
I agree with the statuette. Now you are making up words Sue…..isn’t that fab 😀
It was about time I got started, Brian!!
Very nice indeed, Sue! And you were obviously in hyphenated mood 🙂 🙂
So I was, Jo!!
Wonderful . . .and to think i nearly missed this. I want to throw something at the WordPress Gremlins, but I will try and find some inner calm instead!
And do you like the colour palette of golden browns and black?
oos, sorry . . . yes I do very much!
Yay! So far this is my top image of the year, and no exertion required!
How fab 🙂
😄😄
Actually, I think it’s closely followed by the Impressionist Guildford one….
I did like that one too 🙂
Great!
Nice!!
Thanks! But what do you like about it?
You always use light well Sue, and here I like the interplay of form and shadow. The composition is good and I love both the colour palette and the contrast of textures.
All the things that I was aiming for! Thanks!
Lovely amber tones in both the reflection and the little Buddha, yet at the same time a contrast of textures – insubstantial versus tactile. The shadows are interesting too.
Glad you enjoyed this, Tish….the amber tones are what appealed to me
Good colour combo, and the shadow of the statue makes the shot.
Best wishes, Pete.
Many thanks, Pete!
Nice one….and like the play of words in the caption 🙂
Thanks, David! I look at that image, recall the golden afternoon light, and return to the reality of a flat, grey day…. 🙁
We have had too many of those this autumn and winter…… 3 sunny days on the run and you think paradise has arrived 🙂
Great light and shadow.👍
Thank you, Zebua!
Lovely!
Thanks, Margaret…what do you like best about it?
I loved the oil reflected against the wall. So rich and warm, and unusual as a ‘shadow’. I can ‘see’ it now, and it’s not even on my screen.
Oil?
Oops! I’ve just looked more carefully. I assumed it was olive oil …..
Natch! Beer
Very nice golden light and I like the use of negative space.
Yay! Thanks Jude…I could have used that for your Composition…
Well you still can in one of the other month’s assignments.
😄😄
It is especially delightful that the shadow of the stout bottle makes the bottles even more stout!(As long as we are playing with words._
Wordplay is something I have always loved…
I love catching shots like this!
Yay!
