Over time, I have taken a number of candid images, sometimes with the subject aware, and sometimes not, but always “in the moment” images, not posed – and rarely with a telephoto lens.
When I was first taking photographs, I almost ALWAYS avoided people in my images, because I didn’t want tourists in the shot…and I was rather shy in the early days….anyone hat knows me now find that hard to believe!!
Anyway, here goes:
Probably one of earliest ones I ever took, an old lady returning from the baker’s in Tarasco Provence

Tarascon, 7 am, off to the bakers
A scene in the park Retiro in Madrid, over a decade ago

Deep in a magazine
..and now seated outside a café in Córdoba:
Two happy chaps in London’s East End:

A group of cyclists gathered in Campillos, Spain:

And lastly, seen on a heritage railway station:

‘Candid’ is a gift for you, Sue. One of your specialities. 🙂
Best wishes, Pete.
Thanks very much, Pe the!
All interesting perspectives of people in everyday life. Loved your opener especially
Many thanks, Tina!
I’ve got to get over myself. I’m useless at pointing the camera at unsuspecting subjects on the whole. These photos show how worthwhile it is to do.
Well, it can be rewarding, Margaret!
like that street laughter one a lot – and good choices for the candid theme
Many thanks, Lynne – the laughter one was a great candid!
You are a star, Sue! No problems with candids at all. Love that first one from long ago!
Yippee, thanks, A C!
Great captures, Sue!
Many thanks, Angela!

Thank you very much, Robert! Glad you like these
These are all great Sue. I still struggle to find the confidence to photograph people.
Took m a while
Time I started trying!!
And why not?
I love the various candid images! They tell the stories of daily life. 🙂
Many thanks, Amy!
Terrific shots. Those Londoners made me giggle. Thanks!
😊😊😊
Reading, walking, talking, being together–all those normal activities before cell phones.
Precisely!
Great candids. A lot of variety. I like the blue jackets, the solo lady in the street, and the bicyclers, in particular.
Thanks!
I do enjoy that one of the two guys in blue playing up to your camera. Great shot and lovely series of photos.
Those two guys were great!
Hi, Sue. The 2 happy fellas made me smile! Great captures.
