This was how they were looking yesterday…. by tomorrow I suspect their won’t be a lot of the smaller ones remaining:
They are not decaying in the manner that the ones in my garden of the past did…most intriguing. I love the exposed stamens.

Yes, so do I. By tomorrow I suspect you may have an interesting display of stamens.
You have a point, Margaret!
Lovely shot Sue
The light was perfect, and I got the petals backlit…it’s gloomy today, so no such luck with the light…..
They seem to be clinging on to the last vestige of life. 🙂
Best wishes, Pete.
…and they still are, this morning!
I am still here watching…….waiting…….lovely photo Sue
Thank you, Brian!
A lovely photo Sue, I almost sense movement in the way those petals are ‘dancing’. Mine are certainly dancing in the wind today!
They do do an elegant dance!
Charming and eloquent….
Thank you, Sally!
I’m going backwards in my blog reading, so I’ve already seen the black background one. What a difference. And not just in their age. The light shining through the leaves here make them seem so much more delicate
Yes, when I can get decent sunlight, the backlight on the petals works well!
