Lens-artist’s Photo Challenge # 62: Silhouettes

I am a sucker for a good silhouette! I love backlight

My first silhouette knowingly taken was at the Rocher de Dabo, in the Vosges Mountains, Alsace:

I got a great image late in the afternoon in Brighton, looking out at the West Pier ruin. I was so lucky that these two people were at the shoreline:

…and now to Krakow:

…..and one from Kings Cross station in London:

  1. Nice selection, Sue. But you are always good with silhouettes. 🙂
    Best wishes, Pete.

Many thanks, Pete…..I love silhouettes, but the light is all too often not right, so I don’t get them too often! These few images span nearly two decades!

  2. Oh, love them, Sue! Favorite is the Pier…and Krakow – you got her perfectly where she should be!

  3. Superb shots Sue, you DO love silhouettes and shoot them perfectly

  4. Great silhouettes, Sue. I love them too, but even when I find the opportunity I don’t always make the most of them.

  5. Great gallery of silhouettes

  6. Sue, these are marvelous! The first two shots are my favorites. Your use of white space in the first one is fabulous. The light and composition in the second are also terrific.

  7. Perfect series for the challenge, Sue. I love them all.

  8. The Brighton one is lovely, Sue. Happy Sunday! 🙂 🙂

Great set of silhouettes Sue, love that shot at the west pier!

  10. Very much like the two silhouettes walk away thru the Arch 🙂

  11. Brighton and Kings Cross are my favourites. I like the lines and patterns in these two images.

  12. A good series, I always like photos where the “humans” are small ans surrounded by a large ambient

  13. Excellent. Great choices. The pier is my favorite.

  14. Excellent. (Previous comment disappeared?)
