Whilst waiting for a train, I noticed some striking shadows over on the station platform opposite, so as I had the camera round my neck from earlier image – taking, I just had to take this, the light was so good:

I would have liked to have got in closer to the figures, but I had the ‘wrong’ lens on, and this has already been cropped considerably… might give it a go, we’ll see.

  1. Great shadows, Sue. They look like ‘ghosts’ behind the people on the seats. 🙂
(Not sure I would have a camera around my neck in Hackney these days though…)
    Best wishes, Pete.

  2. I like the observational feel with great light – cropping as u say may offer a second shot

  3. when did you take this picture? not in 2019

  4. Interestig observations, Sue. You are always sharp with that. The figures and the shadows do not seem to belong to one another!

  5. Shadows are always intriguing – a dual world or reflection of inner thoughts of the person? So many stories suggested.
The light, colors and shadows make a lovely image

  6. The light and shadows are lovely. Great capture. The mood is a bit melancholy, too.

  7. I sometimes feel that there are ghosts of old friends near me on benches. This illustrates that quite well.
