Jo’s walk today had me thinking about when I spent a very brief time on Sáo Miguel, and visited Sete Cidades.
As we travelled in the coach, my eye was taken by the aqueduct (Muro das Nove Janelas) that Jo shows us – here are my ‘from the coach’ images:
As you have seen from these, I didn’t get particularly good images from the coach window, especially as the mossy stuff seemed very thick, and obscured any detail there might have been of the stone in the structure, so I was really pleased to see Jo’s post today!
I looked this up, and was surprised to read it was only 100 years old. I thought it looked ancient.

Best wishes, Pete.
Ah, that I didn’t realise!!!
Very interesting to see it covered in moss. A shame there was no stop to get a closer look.
That’s life!
Fantastic! Thanks so much, Sue! Happy to bring it a bit closer for you 🙂 🙂
😊😊😊
I think pictures taken from moving vehicles have their own special charm. That was quite a post from Jo, wasn’t it?
It certainly was, Margaret!
Love it anyway, Sue. 🙂
