I can think of a few occasions over the years where I have encountered what I consider to be dreamy scenes for one reason or another.
The first one that stands out is the time we travelled from the eastern side of Crete to the Samaria gorge, which entailed a very early morning start…this was the beautiful gentle blue scene as our coach left Elounda bay:

All Blue
Quite some years later, we were at Najac in the Aveyron, and I got up early and was greeted with this dreamy scene, mist rising from the valley:

Dawn mist in the Aveyron
Many years later, I was taking photographs at a local garden, when I took this image that put me in mind of Alain Fournier’s “Le Grand Meaulnes”, a story of the search for the unobtainable, and the mysterious world between childhood and adulthood:

Through the grasses
So, I hope that gives a small picture of how I photograph ‘dreamy’

All so dreamy, Sue. I love mist rising, and the blue of Crete…and the last one is like taken from a movie. So lovely.
Thank you, Ann Christine!
Your blue series have been fantastic.
Thank you, and did you like this post?
Of course. They are a wonderful photos 👏
Thanks, pleased you like my photos!
I remember the Samaria Gorge too, Sue. Hot! I absolutely love your second image. That says dreamy to me 😍⛅💕
Oh, I can remember the moment I took a set of early morning images of which that second one was the best- film days, and I took a few to improve the chances of getting one that was OK! Early morning, I looked out of the hotel room window, and dashed for the camera! What a sight….
😚😚
What are those little emoticons meant to be saying, suggesting? Couldn’t quite make them out…sighing?
They don’t always appear on here the same as on the phone, Sue, which is disconcerting at times. I don’t know why I bother 🙂 🙂 Yes, sighing, I guess. Lazy one today?
Yep, lazy day today as I have been very weary for a few days, just trying to recharge…. And you??
Almost certainly beach this morning as it’s hot already. There’s the loveliest warm breeze down there. Hope you perk up soon. Been doing too much or the illness catching up with you? Sending gentle hugs 😎🌊⛵💕
It’s how it is with MS, so I just have to run (haha, as if) with it. That said, I have had a nicely busy time recently, and it takes time to recover! Thanks for the hugs!
I’m with you, Sue. All ‘dreamy’. 🙂
Best wishes, Pete.
Love the mist rising from the valley. And, the one of the local garden, the story is beautifully told.
Thank you, Amy!
Lovely set of I ages Sue. They all invoke dreaminess in slightly different ways. The last is my fave — so easy to imagine stories about the people.
Thanks, Su…my intention was to evoke dreaminess in different ways!
Such dreamy images, Sue. I also love the last one the most. 😍
Thank you, Sylvia….
The middle one brings to mind the lost city of Shangri-La.
Well, there’s a thought!
These are absolutely wonderful!
Many thanks, Suzanne!
Each has its beauty and mystery.
Thank you, Sally!
Sue, stunningly beautiful and mysterious images … all 3!!! The garden one is my favorite.
Thank you, Vivi! Mysterious I had hoped for, glad you think so!
Very much so!!!!!
Yay!
They are all very charming, but my favourite is the mist rising from the valley. That is ethereal.
Thanks, Jude!
The misty mountain scene is so wondrous. Beautiful photos, Sue. ❤
Thank you, Olga!
Nice, and dreamy.
