Prompted by a comment I received on today’s Blue Square image, I recalled a similar image I took in Malaga 3 years ago. Discarded cans and printed material stuffed behind a window grate.
So here’s the London one again, and underneath is the Malaga one:

They both have a certain ‘mystery’, and stand as an indictment on thoughtless littering too.
