At Wisley the other day, in the rain, I grabbed a shot of some Astrantia…not a great image, but OK. I didn’t have the right lens to get in close and catch the raindrops properly, but hey, they were quite colourful:
and here’s an image I took of decaying ones…well, I’m sure that’s what they were. No colour here… …
Nice contrast with the decay, Sue.
Best wishes, Pete.
Thanks, Pete!
They are beautiful even in decay.
Glad you agree!
Hi Sue! I hope this finds you doing well. Such pretty pink blooms and quite the contrast to the decay photo below. The cycle of life captured.
Glad you like these Sue! I%’morning fine, hoe are you?
Doing really well Sue. Another Grandbaby arriving this summer so very excited at that.
Fab!
Beauty in two different ways. And showing the cycle of life. It’s quite a story you have captured between the two photos. Simply beautiful.
Many thanks, Otto! I do love to tell a story!
I have no idea whether they’re the same or not, but the contrast between the two shots is very good.

Glad you liked them, Janet!!
Gorgeous pink color flowers, Sue. the decaying ones are beautifully captured.
Ah, well Amy, it can’t have escaped your notice that I love a bit of beauty in decay!
I like both versions, but if they are the same where did the prickles come from?
My thoughts too, but in Feb or whenever it was, I was told those were Astrantia….. not a clue, Gilly
