The busker and the Bard
Seen near the South Bank in London, not so very far from Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, I was struck by two things…. The vibrant colours of that Street Art of the bard, and the instrument the busker was playing

That’s a really good image of Shakespeare, and works well near The Globe. 🙂
Best wishes, Pete.
I thought it rather impressive, Pete!
“If music be the food of love, play on!” Weird-looking harp, a design I’ve not seen before, perhaps a folk instrument from South America? (Remember Los Paraguayos?) It’s almost a cross between a harp and a lyre…
Yes, could it be a kind of lyre?
A quick search online suggests it may be a unique design for a lyre-harp: lyres are more strictly U-shaped with a cross bar while harps are triangular.
OK, sounds good….thanks for the sleuthing, Chris
Oh yes, a great shot. I’ve not seen that busker before. And this is much better positioning than the guy we saw yesterday, though I’m going to post him black and white tomorrow.
Many thanks, Debbie! I was pleased with his positioning, I was narked with Mr Yesterday, if he wants appreciation he needs to try harder!!
The colors are great and the instrument is certainly interesting. Any idea what it is?
Thanks,Janet.! And no, I am clueless with the instrument
Wonderful mix of new and old.
I love happening upon such juxtapositions!
What a magical image, Sue. Love it. 🙂
Many thanks! Sylvia – it’s great, isn’t it!
I love this image, Sue. Beautiful contrast of the musician and Shakespeare wall painting. 🙂
Many thanks, Amy….I love happening across scenes like that’
Great eyes! Distinctly mischievous 🙂 🙂
Yes, you have a point there, Jo!
