One Word Sunday : Pollution

Well, I’m not I the habit of seeking out polluted areas, still less photographing them, but this vehicle we were following (at quite a distance) in Cuba would fit the bill for air pollution (as would most others we saw back in 2005)

…and what about aesthetic pollution- I think mindless graffiti pollutes our urban environments:

  1. I agree that the kind of graffiti shown is just vandalism. It has no ‘artistic merit’, and makes city centres appear to be unloved, and even dangerous.
    Best wishes, Pete.

  2. Oh I agree with Pete – the “unloved” sounds just like it.

  3. I’m with you on both of these types of pollution, Sue. I saw some beautiful doors in London last week, and they were badly covered in graffiti. Very sad.

  4. Hah, Cuba. And Havana. Despite having 1/20 the number of cars it was 10 times as polluted as my home town. You make the pollution look artistic…

  5. Excellent take on this Sue. Like you I don’t tend to take photos of pollution, but of course graffiti is such a good example. 🙂

  6. Those all worked, Sue. 🙂
