Tina is talking about harmony in a photograph, and in particular colour harmony. Well, I’m all for a burst of colour here and there, probably more vivid and shouty than complimentary , but I’ll see what I can find….
First up,though, I’m going to go single colour, which I find can be most harmonious as with the shades of brown in this image….
And now for a bit of opposition – I love the blu and red in this one:

Detail, Matera
A mix of complimentary colours (the blues) interspersed with areas of opposing colours, but all in all I find this image quite calming:

Man in the shadows, Cienfuegos, Cuba
complimentary colours (in the foreground leaves), set against opposition (green in the background)
and here, for a variety of largely opposing colours

Wall art, Santiago de Cuba
And some lary colours

Good selection, Sue. And you managed to sneak in a Cuban ‘One’ too. 🙂
Best wishes, Pete.
Teehee….I think the Cuban ‘One’ has been seen before! Glad you liked these, Pete
Lovely and interesting collection, Sue. 😍
Many thanks, Sylvia!
Beautiful colorful photos Sue!
Glad you like them, Nicole! Any favourite?
Really loved all of these Sue – some of my favorites among your many terrific posts. Proving that whichever way you go with color there is lots to love!
Pleased you like these, Tina! And yes, lots to love about colour, even more so if we think about how we use it….does the use of colour add to our storytelling? I know when I use B&W it does
Ah, lovely, Sue – and well chosen. I love all these, but have two favorites…Cienfuegos and the barrels. I find them very soothingly beautiful.
Thank you, Ann Christine – I, too find the Cienfuegos image soothing, I think because the predominant colours are complImentary…
The photographs are absolutely gorgeous and the colour play perfectly captured.
Many thanks, pleased you like these!
Oh that blue door with the red basket is divine.
It happens to be one of my favourite images, Desley!
Gorgeous, gorgeous colours. A beautiful gallery of shots Sue.
😊😊
You’re becoming quite visually verbose. I love it!
Excellent!!
Great colors!
Many thanks, John!
I absolutely love the blue door. WP somehow unfollowed you so I have re-followed.. Have a great week.
That blue door is one of my all-time favourites, Marie! And thanks for re-following….WP has unfollowed me more than once, which reminds me I have some to check….
Beautiful collection, Sue. That doorway in Matera was a show-stopper for me. 🙂
Seems that door worked for quite a few people!
Lovely collection, Sue. But my favorite is the door shot. Its colors really attract my eyes.
Many thanks, Nurul – you are not the only one to like that door!!
Neat concept…. 🙂 If we are picking a favourite I will go with the bike and of course the barrels
Thanks, David! I enjoy the Lens-artist’s challenges, get me thinking!
