Lens-artist’s Photo Challenge – Delicious

Now, to most people ‘delicious’ is all about food or drink (Delicious: ‘mouth watering, delectable, very enjoyable’)….but for me, it may be when the elements of a scene come together …delicious in a photographic sense.

So this post will share a number of delicious moments.

First up, a reminder of many past delicious moments, in a vinous sense

Then, I could have tried to find some foodie images, or shown some more of Borough Market’s produce, but we’ll cut to the chase and talk of photographically delicious things.

In the past, I have shown many images of decay, many of which would have fit the bill for ‘delicious decay’, in a photographic sense – but so as not to repeat myself, here are a couple of new images that gave me a frisson of excitement when I saw these delectable sights….firstly, just look at those tasty textures:

delectable decay:

….and maybe even scrumptuous shadows (with so much to reveal)

Of course, it’s all very well getting excited by such things for the sake of a photograph, but I do feel for anyone that has to live in a run-down vuilding.

Hope you have enjoyed my alternative take on ‘Delicious’!!

  1. I thought it made a refreshing change, Sue. And the wine appeals of course! Luckily, I have a nice bottle of Pinotage to enjoy this evening. 🙂
    Best wishes, Pete.

  2. Tasty textures is truly delicious!

  3. Very creative take on the challenge Sue

  4. Amy

Appreciate your out-of-box thinking, Sue. I like the tasty texture. 🙂

  5. Fabulous phrase “a frisson of excitement”

  6. I like your interpretation. #2 is particularly yummy.

  7. That second image is truly delicious: all those lines!

  8. A great take on “delicious,” Sue. I agree that getting the image right is a delicious feeling. Your shots of Lisbon are marvelous.

  9. this was super clever – nice word play – and so “you” – because I actually think of you with certain “patina photos” (and biks…)
and my fav here is the
delectable decay photo – the colors are great and then the lines and shapes – it is a strong comp –
and yes – i did like the alternative take on the theme

    • Sue

Teehee, glad you like these, Yvette! I loved Lisbon’s old area, what I saw of it. Need to get back

      • and I like how you noted you feel bad for folks who live in some of the run down areas- but I wonder if they really mind – you know sometimes people just accept what is and are not really comparing – well sometimes in certain socioeconomic groups there is less of it

      • Sue

Well, there is some truth in that

  10. I really like your approach to the challenge Sue. It’s taken me a while to get to comment, having seen your post briefly yesterday. It inspired my take on “delicious” actually.

  11. Love your approach, Sue! Your textures are delicious and so is your taste. As usual!

  12. I do like a bit of texture, Sue, and I am surrounded by it most days. Not quite on the doorstep though 🙂 🙂

  13. I must admit I’m attracted to the derelict rather than the new!!
