Lens-artist’s Photo Challenge # 40: Something different

Tina has asked us to show something different for this weeks’ Lens-artist’s challenge, and I have been wondering what to post. Then I thought of some images I took recently, which are not my usual style.

On a recent cruise during days at sea, and one day when we were docked and I didn’t leave the ship, I decided to see what images I could make with lines or patterns, so he are goes

– first up, a pattern of shadows I saw on the deck:

Next up, some geometrical images Involving glass that I found inside the ship – simple lines:

…a bit more of a pattern

….and some clean lines here:

And finally, a rather warped view of the dockside at La Coruna:

Hope you have enjoyed these, and which one did you like best?

  1. Great eye for composition! I like the last two best, FWIW.

  2. They’re all good, Sue. 🙂 🙂 I like lines and shadows. Family went back this afternoon and we had a lovely evening out with friends in consolation.

  3. Best liked? The warping of course! But it’s a wonderful collection and yet more evidence of your capacity to sing whatever songs are available to you.

    • Sue

The warping was just amazing, I couldn’t not take a photograph, Meg! And I like the thought that I have capabilitŷ for different songs to suit the occasion….

  4. Amy

I love how you take the photos of the shadows, line lines, and geometry pattern. The last one is different and very interesting. I never know how to take photos on the cruise. 🙂

  5. Something different indeed. I enjoyed them, especially the sharpness of those ‘clean lines’.
    Best wishes, Pete.

  6. Time well spent aboard I should say. A very interesting set of images.

  7. For me it is hard to do sth different than my usual style. I like all your pics, but the last one is my favorite.

  8. These are really great Sue. Love them all but the warped view is my fav.

  9. I am very fond of shadows so love that one and clean lines is great. Nice to change direction occasionally.

  10. I first looked at all the pictures before reading – and so I was surprised this was from the cruise. well not surprised because it seems obvious now – but at first I thought it was all from a city.
and the order I like these
    4, 3, 5, 2 and 1
