Less is not enough.
Winter has been kind this year (so far) and we still have some Bulrushes’ standing tall. The fluffy insides are now attracting ‘early birds’ who are establishing nests, it makes a cosy lining for their nests. They may well need it thru March. 🙂
Yes, I suspect they may well do
I agree!
Regarding backlight, A C?
Yes! And what a funny name for the plant in English!
And how would your Swedish word translate??
Kaveldun – rolling pin down?
Well, they do look like rolling pins! And they have lots of fluffy down….well done, you Swedes! Much better name than Bullrushes!!
;-D Sometimes even we succeed!
Of course you do! 🙄
I can see why you took the shot. I like Bullrushes too, and this worked well. 🙂
Best wishes, Pete.
But isn’t Bullrushes a daft name…the Swedish Rolling pin down (fluff) seems much more sensible!
They do look like small rolling pins!
It seems that our name is a corruption. I found this. https://www.etymonline.com/word/bulrush
Yep, sounds reasonable
Nice light catch, Sue. I love bullrushes (or whatever you want to call them) when they get fluffy.
janet
Yes, it’s all about the fluff!
Beautiful backlight image!!
Thank you, Amy!
I love these when the fluff is bursting through, yes great nesting material.
Great, aren’t they!
