In the ’90s, my parents mentioned a little town in the Vienne that we might like to see on a return from the EuroClassic if we were in the area. One year we did work a route out to take it in, and loved it, visiting 3 or 4 times over the years.
The town is Angles sur l’Anglin, and I can still recall taking each of these images of this deloightful place
The first one that really ‘spoke’ to me was this view of the old mill through some willow trees
And whenever we were there, I enjoyed strolling about the place

Looking over Angles village
The castle looks over the town from it’s vantage point:
One morning, I slipped out of the hotel before breakfast to grab some images in the early morning light, and was well rewarded:

Morning mist clearing, Angles sur l’Anglin
Hope you have enjoyed this reminisce
A lovely old town, Sue. I can see from the photos why you liked it so much. 🙂
Best wishes, Pete.
Thanks, Pete- I don’t suppose I’ll get there again, but I have the memories. The Lion d’Or was a lovely hotel…..
Wonderful place.
It is!
Classic
Thanks!
Looks like a great spot. I particularly liked the bridge reflection shot.
Thanks!
Such a delightful place
It is, Pauline….and not too well known
Oh, the feeling comes through so intensely…a lovely, lovely place.
Oh, I think you would like it there!
I am sure!
😊
It does look very peaceful and charming and you have some lovely shots. The last one reminds me a lot of Ludlow castle 🙂
Yes, indeed!
How beautiful. I love the name too. Great shots, Sue.
Many thanks, Sylvia…a place I have enduring memories of
Lovely, one to add to the list 🙂
Oh, do!
Very lovely images, Sue. A beautiful place to be.
One of my favourite places on earth….
