Voyage….somehow, this word evokes thoughts of travel across the sea, so here are a couple of images of past voyages I have taken, and I’m sure I will see more of the same on future voyages!
….but train travel in Europe also has me think ‘Voyage’
Linked to One Word Sunday at Debbie’s here
I have always associated ‘Voyage’ with water too. And it does sound more romantic than ‘Train travel’. 🙂
Best wishes, Pete.
😀😀😀
I agree – the sea! Lovely shots, Sue!
Thanks, Ann Christine!

It has been interesting that many people have commented on “voyage” being linked to boats for them. There is nothing in the etymology to make us think that way, so I think that books and films must have created a glamorous, romantic and intriguing image of travel in our heads. Like you, Sue, I’m not automatically a cruise fan, but boats still suggest adventurous travel to me. But I love trains too.
And I loved your images for this week’s theme.
Yes, intriguing as to why we think of sea..Glad you like these
Defnitely voyage means a journey over water or into space to me. As you probably haven’t yet ventured into space then the sea voyages are perfect 🙂
Teehee…Space is out for me!
Me too! Though I did once see the space shuttle Columbia in orbit when I lived in South Africa.
Wow!
Just red lights shooting through the night sky as it orbited the earth 🙂
Oh, OK!
Bon Voyage! Two of the best words in the language. 🙂
Indeed!
That second one is so evocative of voyage – a sense of both going into and departing from
Glad you agree, Meg!
Bon Voyage is such an exciting farewell. I love being in the ocean and thankfully never get seasick. Lovely images, Sue. 😘
I agree re: Bon Voyage! And luckily, I haven’t got seasick yet!
I agree…..for some reason a voyage makes me think of the ocean.
Yes, asked an elderly friend of mine what Voyage meant to her, and she said a journey by sea!
Love that second photo and outlook.
Just says travel, eh?
You have a One in there too, Sue 🙂 🙂 Wonderfully atmospheric. I want to be standing there.
On the ship, or on the station, Jo?
Gazing out of the ship, Sue 🙂 🙂
Well, I did think it was that one!

Beautiful interpretation 😊 can I join you in that second one!
Please do!
