I remember it as if it were yesterday….. / 3

Another image from my past that is charged with memories for me – I was taking photos of the ruined house when these two girls with parasols appeared, lending another tone to the image…. as if from another era when the house was in it’s heyday.

What works for me about that image is that there are no other people present to disturb the mood…of wistful reminiscence?

  1. Ah, parasols. Summer elegance, and perfect for your scene. 🙂
    Best wishes, Pete.

  2. I think this installs the sense of playfulness and curiosity. Very pretty image, Sue

  3. I think I’ve been there, is it Nymans?

  4. You caught a definite mood and time period with this one, Sue. Well done.

  5. Nymans ruin I believe. A lovely setting and the parasols work well. I enjoyed the BBC TV programme about the place too. Sadly not available to watch, but there is a nice clip about the herbaceous borders: https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p01xs59w

and I did a post on the house too: https://smallbluegreenflowers.wordpress.com/2015/09/26/garden-portrait-more-from-nymans/

  6. You stirred some great memories with my lady friends there, Sue. Wish I had time to go visiting them too. How is it that I seem to have less time here? Or maybe just more things to do. 🙂 🙂
