Six Word Saturday: A group of WRENS in watercolour

Seen at Standen recently- simple watercolour. Accompanied by an old decorated paintbox:

  1. What a lovely feel to this, Sue. 🙂 🙂 Wishing you a happy weekend! Take good care 🙂

  2. Looks like someone was attempting to design more ‘fashionable’ uniforms for them. 🙂
    Best wishes, Pete.

  3. I like the photo. I love the composition. I like the picture. But why wrens? (I checked up the word, it’s a kind of bird, the German name literally translated in English is “king of the fence” but I know them as rather brown than grey. Is there another meaning for wren in English?

  4. You caught the atmosphere perfectly…great shot 🙂

  5. The NT on the whole do make a good job of staging their ‘props’. And you make a good job of photographing them.

  6. I love the simplicity of the watercolour, plus your thoughtful composition, Sue

  7. Haven’t been to Standen for a while. That’s a lovely watercolour and the composition works so well.

    • Sue

I was entranced by Standen…many NT places leave me a bit indifferent, but not that one! Glad you like my composition – had to wriggle around a tad!
