In sight of the Golden Roof

Another found print, this one from early 1985, and no negative.

A scene in the Altstadt of Innsbruck, snow and slush on the streets and the Goldenes Dachl (Golden Roof) in the frame.

Much detail has been lost in the scan, but I like the way I framed the shot, and there is a certain atmosphere still:

  1. Oh sue – you have been doing photography a long time! And I guess the good news is that if you wanted to invest a little – there is technology to work w old pics without a negative –

Anyhow – the arches on this piece had me exploring all around – and the culture too

  2. Innsbruck Old Town looks very photogenic, Sue. I am guessing you went through a few rolls of film back then.
    Best wishes, Pete.

  3. A beautiful photo of historical value!

  4. This really draws you in – love it Sue.

  5. My favorite aspect of this image, which is lovely BTW, is the portrait in the shop window. Wonderful capture Sue

  6. Yes lovely atmosphere Sue xx

  7. Wonderful Innsbruck! It is oozing atmosphere. The women in the street and the glamorous shot in the shop window contrast well, and set the time pretty well.
I haven’t been there for a while myself but I doubt it has changed all that much

  8. Always great to look back through old photos, they bring back so many memories

  9. The Golden Roof is now covered with netting to keep the birds away. Practical but ruins a photo. 🙂

  10. I like the advertising poster in the window!
