I do like these blue shutters:

Shutters and Shadows
Triggered by Tina’s (Travels and Trifles) comment about her Provençal blue hour sky being tinged with pink and violet, I thought of this evening sunset moving to blue hour photograph in Provence, many years ago:
Now for one many of you will have seen before…a blue early morning (blue hour) scene near Agios Nikolaus on Crete, early ’80s:

Early morning on Crete
Then we have blue as as predominant colour in a picture in a restaurant in Lanzarote

These are all lovely. I particularly like the misty and romantic view of Crete.
I have always loved that image, Suzanne….a reminder of a great day (we walked the Samaria gorge in blistering hot weather…but it was reasonably cool in the gorge)
Photos are great when they take us back in time to happy moments.
Indeed!
Nice blues, Sue. Shutters always remind me of hot days in continental Europe.
Best wishes, Pete.
Don’t they…but these were in Lyme Regis!!
🙂 🙂
😊
Lovely series – and the Greek islands offers excellence in blue. Lyme Regis always conjures up that novel: “The French Lieutenant’s Woman”…
Glad you like these, A C!
Love your choices sue. They really demonstrate the many variations of blue. Partial to Provence tho😊. Really so beautiful there.
I liked it when it was less well known!
Oh, and in my trawls through the past, I was looking through some images of Oppède Le Vieux….you got inside the church there, and I LOVE one of your images..can I be cheeky and request you email me the church music image. Pretty Please…
LOL, cheeky is not a word I often see! I know the scene you’re referring to but can you let me know the specific shot Sue? I’m happy to send it along. Need your email too Sue.
I’ve sent a message to your website with my email, grope you get it. If you can send me a decent sized image file, that would be brilliant….I would just love to fill in a blank on a past trip!
Will do Sue!
Just read my comment…I typed hope but I see that wasn’t what got sent to you….technology! And thanks!
LOL, I assumed that Sue!
😀😀
These are all gorgeous blues, Sue. But Provence is my favorite. 😊
And I nearly didn’t include that one……
Glad you did.
😊😊
I especially like that early morning photo! A scene I rarely see.
Rare for me too!!
The shutters win for me, they remind me of somewhere.
Lyme Regis?
Aha, thanks 🙂
😀😀
Beautiful blues, Sue! 🙂 🙂 We were at a garden with an ancient, dilapidated summerhouse, of sorts, this afternoon. Blue, of course. Thought of you 🙂
Ooooh! Did you take a picture of that summerhouse for me??
I did indeed 🙂 🙂 Still in the camera along with heaps of stuff till I catch up.
Yippee, good girl!
Lovely selection but I love the sky blue shutters, so tidy…
Aren’t they!
Those shutters are so lovely!
They were!
Wonderful gallery with some lovely blues 🙂
Thank you, Rupali!
Great photos!
Thanks!
