The Rain in Berne and the Sun in Wien

More reminiscing….early ’80s and we were in Berne, and it was raining. Ventured further in Switzerland to Lake Thun. More rain, so we decided to jump on another train and head to Vienna.

The rain in Berne (in the miserable weather, I had decided to take some monochrome shots on Ilford FP4):

Alas, I can’t find the negative, but did find a print developed well over 30 years ago, and it has discoloured rather hence the rather poor quality scan.

….the sun in Wien, the cafés well frequented:

So we made the right decision! In the days before internet information, I have no idea why we thought we would be better in Vienna. But we were.

  1. I like the drama of the black and white shot. 🙂 🙂

  2. I like the B&W too though would have aged it as much earlier than the 1980s.

  3. Love the b & w, just interested to know, what made you take it 🙂

  4. I love the fact that the B&W shot is outside a camera shop! 🙂
    Best wishes, Pete.

  5. Rain or not the camera shop is appropriate 🙂
