Well, Debbie showed us a photo of the Tate and Lyle factory on the banks of the Thames, so I’ve dug out a different shot I took of the place a few years ago
…and for another sugar shot, here’s an image of the Los Ingenios valley in Cuba, the Valley of the Sugar Mills
…and here is a ruined hacienda from that area:
Linked to One Word Sunday at Debbie’s here
Nice sugar content, Sue. I used to see the Silvertown factory when I crossed on the Woolwich Ferry, back in the 70s. 🙂
Best wishes, Pete.
Ah, yes!
The evil that is sugar! 😦 😦 Good shots though.
The evil that is sugar, indeed….I try to limit my consumption to eating some fruit, and the natural sugar within, and virtually no added sugar…avoiding eg cereals with sugar, cakes etc. And most of the time I succeed….
Not an easy route, Sue. I was just reading Yvette and thinking… 🙂 🙂
My mother became diabetic in later life, and as it’s hereditary I want to do my best to avoid going down the same route….
Can’t resist the ruin, can you???? You have more success with sugar apparently! Do you give lessons?
I can never resist a ruin! But I wish I had stepped into that one…..I could have, except we were on a tour, and had I held up the group I might have been in trouble!! As for the sug ar, no lessons, just willpower!!
Whenever I see the word “just” (“tylko” in Polish) I shudder. I realise it won’t be simple!
Teehee! Life ain’t simple, Meg….you know that!
That valley shot is so lovely.
Taken on a crummy 4 megapixel camera, but it looks OK!
Looks better than OK. Reminds me of the valley in Franschhoek, except for the palm trees!
Thanks! Glad to have brought back memories….
I like your photos. One thing about sugar and all the other so-called evils in the world. It is up to us to use or not to use anything that is dangerous to our health and life.
Precisely….my sentiments entirely, but society seems intent on blaming someone else – whatever happened to willpower??
Nice photojournalistic triad on sugar here…
– love how you showed another view of Deb’s shots –
and the Cuba fields – so open and would make us think sugar should be nutrient dense – and then…
the shack – made me wonder of the lives that used to fill that place – hm
Absolutely…..plenty to ponder on, eh?
🙂
Sweet choices, Sue. 🙂
janet
You do make me smile, Janet!
I’m glad. 🙂
😊😊
Thanks for this trip back to Cuba. 🙂
I loved Cuba!
Me, too. 🙂
