Rounding the bend / 1

Woohoo! the Mac woke up very slowly this morning once I cleared the browser history to allow me to access the WP dashboard. Discussed the issue with the iPad with an Apple bod, and he said the OS is too old. New iPad. Well, perhaps not, I don’t want to be spending the money, knowing that the nearly 8 year old Mac needs replacing as well, and it will take precedence.

On my steam train journey the other day, I took a few images of the train rounding a bend. This was the first, and the steam was belching out (took me back in time):

  1. Nice curve on the carriages, and good to catch the smoke too. ๐Ÿ™‚
    Best wishes, Pete.

  2. Lovely photo, I love hanging out of them too. Also have a bit of problem with my mac laptop, will not let me sign into wordpress, needs to do an up date, using my big PC, but have no photos on it, so a little rest from posting ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Great shot. ๐Ÿ™‚ I don’t think our Mac’s should ever get old. They just stop making the parts, so we can’t have them fixed. Sigh. And new tech leaves us in the dust. Mine’s almost the same age as yours.

  4. Good old steam trains ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. I can just remember travelling on a regular service steam train with carriages that had compartments; far more civilised than what we have today. A porter who would help with the luggage, warm waiting rooms: stop !! things are better now, so I’m told.
There was a time when items were built to last, but that didn’t make money, add a plastic component that will break after so many years, customer forced to buy new, 3D printing comes along.
Ha say the manufacturer, software, drivers, now we have a never ending update for hardware that won’t run on the latest operating system. Money for nothing as the song goes,
Great image, see how it got me thinking ๐Ÿ™‚
    Sorry for the rant.

  6. This is lovely. Have I said that already? ๐Ÿ˜€
Well it is. I have a ’round the bend’ shot from a couple of trains – one steam, the other not.

  7. Love the parallel barricades of bush and train. Iโ€™m sure it says something significant about the industrial revolution. I LOVE steam trains!

  8. I didn’t hear that song, I heard “She’ll ce comin’ around the mountain when she comes! Wheee! Wheee! She’ll be comin’ aroun the mountain when she comes!’
    That’s the song I heard

  9. Your photo takes me back so far. I love train travel but especially the old steam trains even with all the soot coming through the windows that could be opened

  10. Great shot – I love steamers too! And your good old Mac…
