On Sunday, I showed the interior of the delightful little Jaszczurówka wooden church in the Tatra mountains – actually, the Sacred Heart Chapel. It was built around 1904, and I found this information here
Well, here’s the external roofscape. Rather marvellous, I think you would agree:
Linked to Becky’s June Squares here
I certainly agree!
Thanks!
A lot of craftsmanship went into that roof, undeniably.
Best wishes, Pete.
It certainly did…I love to see the results of such skilled hands
Stunning roof, Sue.
Rather marvellous, I thought!
Absolutely!
😊
Absolutely agree. More delicious Zakopane woodwork. I seem doomed not to capture timber churches – my battery ran out just as I reached a beauty in the Skansen at Lublin. Just as well I have you as surrogate.
The Skansen at Lublin….is that low land?
Low land??
What’s a Skansen?
The skansen drew me to Lublin: it’s an open air museum. Can’t find my post about it.
Ah, now I think I’m vaguely remembering, because it put me in mind of one I had visited in Romania

Yep, just been back over (I am one of the original ‘liker’s), and it is very redolent of the Romanian museum I saw, the wooden gate could have come straight from Transylvania!
What was the draw of Lublin?
Is the inside as stunning as the outside?
I posted the inside as last Sunday’s Silent Sunday… https://suejudd.com/2018/06/10/silent-sunday-10-06-2018/
A church built with wood gives a warmer feel than a church built with stone. Beautiful photo, Sue!
Yes, wood has a warmer feel…
The entire thing is marvelous!

Pleased you agree, Janet!
Lovely 🙂
It, was!
Yes, Marvelous and spectacular architecture.
It was marvellous!
Wow, fairytales, I love it 🙂
It does look the place of such tales!
Spectacular roof – a lot of effort was needed to create something like this.
Very talented wood carver!
