June Squares : Rooves / 12

On Sunday, I showed the interior of the delightful little  Jaszczurówka wooden church in the Tatra mountains – actually, the Sacred Heart Chapel. It was built around 1904, and I found this information  here

Well, here’s the external roofscape. Rather marvellous, I think you would agree:

  1. A lot of craftsmanship went into that roof, undeniably.
    Best wishes, Pete.

  2. Absolutely agree. More delicious Zakopane woodwork. I seem doomed not to capture timber churches – my battery ran out just as I reached a beauty in the Skansen at Lublin. Just as well I have you as surrogate.

  3. Is the inside as stunning as the outside?

  4. A church built with wood gives a warmer feel than a church built with stone. Beautiful photo, Sue!

  5. The entire thing is marvelous!

  6. Yes, Marvelous and spectacular architecture.

  7. Wow, fairytales, I love it 🙂

  8. Spectacular roof – a lot of effort was needed to create something like this.
