Finding the shade

It was a hot May day in Krakow, and it was not even lunchtime. The shadows were well defined, and this man found a sensible place to rest.

The best camera is the one you have with you – I was not close enough for this shot, couldn’t ‘leg it’ closer and didn’t have the long lens with me, so I’ve had to crop this heavily….but I still like it. Great background, good light – what more can you want? Well, a blue sky, I suppose, but the sun was in the wrong direction!!

  1. Woks for me on every level. Light, subject, building, mural. Even the flower stall on the right adds more.
    Nice shot, Sue.
    Best wishes, Pete.

  2. And you even got that great wall mural in the background. 🙂

  3. It is very hard to get a good picture in harsh light. But you did it with your photo, Sue!

  4. Interesting one Sue xx

  5. Do you mean to say you can’t make the sun be where you want it? You have to manipulate it through your camera??? I’m disappointed in you!!

However you did it a great shot and a very Polish looking person. Could be my son in law. The context says a lot about a Polish scene too.

(I’m in recovery in the Southern Hemisphere.)

  6. I like the vague haze, it adds atmosphere.

  7. You made it work – fabulous 🙂
