What is it about bicycles?

Somehow, photographers love a bicycle or two! I must admit, I don’t have too many images of them, but grabbed a few when I was in Poland.

Here are a couple in the shade, and I rather like the tatty poster on the wall. Behind is a lovely street café under the trees, where I lingered for a while over a strong, black coffee. The cup was the subject of a recent post!

The background is the important part, set the scene:

More to come….

  1. I agree that the poster makes the shot, Sue.
    Best wishes, Pete.

  2. A good question! They are definitely photogenic

  3. I have several photos of old bicycles. They just conjure up emotion

  4. I love photos of bicycles, and I love that tattered wall behind these. 🙂

  5. It is the set – yes. Love that poster and the wall. Enjoyed it without coffee…

  6. Yes, the background sets the scene! Not only the poster, but the texture of the wall, that iron gate with the vines on it. Great photo.

  7. Not sure but the eye does tend to lock onto them 🙂

  8. I have a few but this is a nice shot Sue xx

  9. Love this photograph, Sue. It tells a story. I usually can’t resist a bicycle (or two). The only time I found myself snubbing bicycles was in Amsterdam, where cyclists think they own the roads and quickly became my number one enemies! 😀 BTW, if you need more bike pics in your library, two hours in Amsterdam will provide you a lifetime supply. 😉

  10. Bikes and dilapidation. A bifecta!

  11. Yep, I’m a fan of bike photos as well, shame I can’t stay on bikes. This is lovely and the scruffy poster and crumbly wall give great character.

  12. Lovely shot … I’m just a bit into bicycles at the moment so am loving it. Thanks. Katie.
