Krakow trams / 1

I love to see trams, alas this time I didn’t get to ride on one, but I have a number of images…here’s the first, all iconic Eastern European rooves, and a tram….and a ‘One’, perhaps!

  1. I like the European trams too, and the historic one in San Fran. Must get around to posting those some day.

  2. ‘ones’ there are several…

  3. My Mum told me that she took me on the last tram to cross Westminster Bridge, before they were scrapped in London. Sadly, I was a babe in arms, so don’t remember the experience.
    Best wishes, Pete.

Hmm….my grandfather was a conductor on the London trams, but sadly all gone by the time I appeared on the scene…..

      • Mum’s story was that 1952 was the last year they would run. She was keen (for some reason) to take me on one, so she could tell me when I was older. I was born in March that year, so presumably very young at the time we went on the tram.
I remember some roads still had the tramlines for a long time after that though.

  4. A tram is a lovely sight. It reminds me of my youth in the Old Country.

  5. I love trams – thank you for posting! I seldom ride one, but when I get the chance – I take a photograph!

  6. Such a shame to have scrapped most of our trams.
