Time for another Traces of the Past – this time I have chosen a street in Kazimierz district of Krakow. This is the old Jewish quarter, and this particular street with it’s hanging balconies was used in the film ‘Schindler’s List’, now appearing to be undergoing renovation:
Linked to Thursday’s Special at Paula’s here
Some unsettling history there, Sue. Good to see it being brightened up though.
Best wishes, Pete.
The history of that region of Europe is indeed unsettling, Pete
Great capture of the Jewish quarters of Krakow, Sue! You must have waited till there were very few people around. I can imagine that lots of tourists are normally flooding this famous area.
I do a certain amount of lurking, Peter, biding my time until the right scene appears…..
Great design elements – even if they weren’t trying for that.
…..and I doubt they were
Obviously, but oddly design/lines/contrast/ happens anyway…people being people can’t help it even when not trying?
A very nice capture, Sue. Did you get to the Schindler Museum? X
I didn’t – discussions about the sheer number of stairs and the length of the visIt advised me against it…shame
Things always change Sue, how long ago were you there?
About 3weeks ago!
You did get around in Kraków – and lurk to good effect.
A little!
Lurking Sue! 🙂
A good capture – I can feel its history, despite the renovation work
Thanks Debs…and lurking I was!
Layers and layers of history. Fine composition, Sue. I tend to look for Jewish neighborhoods when I travel too.
😊
