I have known what I would post for Z ever since I started these A to Z challenge responses…unlike some other letters where I hadn’t a clue. Trouble is, I can’t locate more than a few images at present, lost in the archives somewhereo. It is almost two decades since we were there, and the place had barely had any renovations since the communist era.
So anyway, here are a few shots. First up, one of the town’s old fortifications:

Fleischerbastei..remainder of the old city fortifications
an old cobbled street:
Solitary person climbing another old street:

Solitary in (almost) monochrome
An interesting facade of what was the old post office, I think:
This was a breeze for you … because you’ve been everywhere!
Sadly, I have NOT been everywhere, Meg!
Well, it sure feels like you have! I’ve been following your A to Z posts with a mixture of apprehension and jealousy, wondering what you’d post for Z. Amazing work, Sue.
Thank you! Glad you have enjoyed these posts…..
Thanks for this A to Z series, how impressive is the archive you have to draw on and what delights you have presented for us! 🙂
Many thanks, Chris, glad you’ve enjoyed this jaunt through the alphabet!
Your travels have served you well with this A-Z, Sue. I tried to think if I had been anywhere starting with a ‘Z’, but drew a blank.
Best wishes, Pete.
I could have done a skirt around the edge of Zurich, probably only two images, and not very good at that!
Love the streets 🙂
Right up my street, so to speak, Lynne!!
Yes Sue and I wouldn’t be far behind you 🙂
Yay!
🙂
Such a beautiful place to be.
Thank you for sharing
Glad you like this, Vesna!
Love old places like this, so photogenic, lovely shots.
Thanks, Fraggle! I loved that place
So you succeeded in finding places for every letter! Good for you! You’ve been everywhere. 🙂
Thanks, Cathy…but, sadly I haven’t been everywhere!! 😀😀
It sure seems like you have, Sue. I certainly couldn’t put together an A-Z list of places I’ve traveled to!
OK, I’ll be happy with my travels, thean!
that looks like a wonderful place, Sue
I liked it! And there is a narrow gauge railway from there to the ruined monastery at Oybin
No post offices like that around us, Sue. 🙂 The city looks beautiful and I think all the old people keep in shape just from doing all that walking!

I think you have a good point!
It has been a fascinating month of travel with you Sue, introducing me to many places I have never even heard of let alone visited. Thank you for sharing your lovely travel memories with us.
I’m happy that you enjoyed them, Jude!
Well done finding this interesting place for z
Went there about a decade after the Wall fell, so a lot of it was unchanged after the Communist era
