A definition of literal can be ‘accurate, faithful, true, genuine’….
So I give you a literal view of a magnolia:

…..and because we all know the camera can be made to lie, this is the same magnolia against a blue sky, as a far from literal rendition, by way of contrast:

Gorgeous. I could imagine dress material in those colours.
Thanks! I was pleased with that abstract…
Both of them absolutely gorgeous, Sue! A combo on the wall – !
Thanks, A C! It was a lovely Magnolia
That’s interesting
You like my take on the challenge, Pauline?
Very clever
Ah, I do like to use the grey matter occasionally!
👍
Love this, Sue – both versions.
Thank you, Tish!
Great choice Sue. I love the abstract, and giving this strong congrast was a brilliant idea
Many thanks, Debs! I do like to challenge myself to come up with something different now and again!
I think the water droplets really enhance that one, Sue.
Best wishes, Pete.
Yes, it did make it look rather lovely, Pete.
I agree with everyone, those colours are amazing.
Thank you, Jackie!
How DID you do that? It’s a gorgeous abstract.
Teehee! Swung the camera about on a slow shutter speed….would have to go look at the original metadata to tell you more, Jude
That’s VERY clever Sue. I have done that with trees, but never thought to try with flowers.
Well I’ve always wanted to do it with trees, but only did once, and not very good. Oh, and I’m pretty sure that was a 1 second exposure, so I had to use an ND filter as it was a bright sunny day
Well done, Sue!
I wanted to have a different slant!
I love the abstract version especially. Interesting how you did it, Sue. 🙂
It was a fun experiment! Took a few goes to get the result I wanted
Great idea, Sue, and beautifully executed.
janet
Thank you, Janet…I thought I must use the grey matter!
I really like the second photo a lot, lovely colors, Sue
Thank you, Mitza! They are rather lovely, I agree
👌👌👌👌
😊
Now there’s a conundrum! Do I prefer yours or Ann Christine’s magnolia? 🙂 🙂 Good thing there’s space in this world for all.
Well, precisely…..
Absolutely lovely abstract Sue!
Many thanks, Madhu!
