Many years ago, on the Greek island of Crete, there was the most stunningly ruby-red sun just setting….and my other half who was driving could ‘t find anywhere safe to stop, and moments later the vision had gone…. I have always remembered that missed picture!
Fast forward to tonight…a sudden stunning ruby orb from my kitchen window…but I was charging the camera batteries, and had to go hunting for the spare…..you’ve guessed…by the time I got the battery in, the red ball had disappeared. I am rarely so disorganise, I usually ensure the camera is always ready. Another lesson!
I have only ever seen such a super-intense red ball of a setting sun on those two occasions…..
So this was all I got this time, just a lurid sky:
Oh, well! Better luck next time 🙂 🙂
Probably no next time, suns like these are like hens teeth
Oh ye of little faith! Back to Crete then, is it? X
Hardly! As if I could tell the sun to set in this particular way, in a particular place….🙄😉😉
Course you can! I have faith in you, Sue 🙂
That way madness lies….
Lurid will do – and we got those two glorious verbal accounts,
(I’ll be intermittently AWOL for a while – writing week coming up with a friend staying.)
Thank you, Meg. Glad you enjoyed my rare writing! Have a good break!
I have done that too.
Sad, eh?
Oh, it is so annoying
It was a very nice lurid sky, all the same.
Best wishes, Pete.
Well, yes, some consolation!
Still a stunning sky I can only imagine what it would’ve been a few minutes earlier
A bright Ruby orb!
