Missed Opportunity

Many years ago, on the Greek island of Crete, there was the most stunningly ruby-red sun just setting….and my other half who was driving could ‘t find anywhere safe to stop, and moments later the vision had gone…. I have always remembered that missed picture!

Fast forward to tonight…a sudden stunning ruby orb from my kitchen window…but I was charging the camera batteries, and had to go hunting for the spare…..you’ve guessed…by the time I got the battery in, the red ball had disappeared. I am rarely so disorganise, I usually ensure the camera is always ready. Another lesson!

I have only ever seen such a super-intense red ball of a setting sun on those two occasions…..

So this was all I got this time, just a lurid sky:

  1. Oh, well! Better luck next time 🙂 🙂

  2. Lurid will do – and we got those two glorious verbal accounts,

(I’ll be intermittently AWOL for a while – writing week coming up with a friend staying.)

  3. It was a very nice lurid sky, all the same.
    Best wishes, Pete.

  4. Still a stunning sky I can only imagine what it would’ve been a few minutes earlier
