Which is my best side?

A friend brought me a couple of dead flowers yesterday…well, gracefully decaying flowers! I’m always pleased with such offerings, and with the brief window of sunlight, dashed off a couple of images. Would be better using a tripod, but time was of the essence, so no time for that. These were processed on my iPad, I’ll see if I can get around to doing a proper job on the Mac tomorrow or after. These iPad images don’t show the delicate, almost translucent petals properly.

Oddly, here are two images of the same flower, different angles:

If if anyone can tell me what this is, I would be very pleased!

  1. Both good, but I am drawn to the top one more.
    Best wishes, Pete.

  2. Well done! I would call them fading beauties.

  3. I think you’ll find it’s what we call a ‘pale yellow flower’. That’s its technical name. Anything else is just showing off.

  4. Looking at the second one, they could be irises. Got the right sort of stem. Very pretty even in decay.

  5. Lovely photos, Sue. The light is delightful.

  6. They do look like 2 totally different flowers. Now where is Jude to tell us what it is…

  7. These are delicious – I want to draw them, especially the bottom one! Are they one of those frilly double (plus) tulips?

  8. The second one. 🙂 🙂 You’ll like my comment on Jude’s post today.

  9. No idea what they are but your ability to make the decaying so beautiful is an extraordinary skill Sue.
