Algid

I have in my memory the perfect image for this word…..but I have no idea what happened to it….. We were driving in the Salzkammergut, I think, and a scene straight out of Narnia presented itself to us … I had a very basic point and shoot camera with me, and the scene didn’t come out particularly well. But I reckon I could make something of it now….if I could find it

So, I need to come up with something else, albeit one used before:

Narnia?

  1. Oh beautiful, desolate, wintry wonderland. Great entry, Sue. If you ever find the photo you first had in mind make sure to share it with me. I love Salzkammergut.

  2. Ooh, I like this. Looks like a pen and ink drawing.

  3. A drawing! Beautiful!

  4. Like Jude, I could see this as a drawing.
As for Algid, I could take a photo of my bedroom, before the central heating kicks in! 🙂
    Best wishes, Pete.

  5. Definitely looks nippy but I have a feeling I’d prefer Narnia. Come on- off your butt and look for it. 🙂 🙂

  6. I’m with Pete, offering my house when I wake up as an example, as I put the heat down to 55 F at night. However, I love your photo even if I might love the name Salzkammergut even more. 🙂

  7. What a beautiful delicate evocative image. Almost but not quite a woodcut.

  8. I used to have an app on my tablet that would create a sketch effect, however you did this it works really well.

  9. Definitely that Narnia feeling! Lovely wintery photo.
