It works for me, once and twice.
Thanks, Tish!!
Ah, the noble Gevrey-Chambertin. One of my top tipples, when I can justify the expense. 😉
Best wishes, Pete.
Ho hey, it’ll be my penultimate bottle of Chambolle tomorrow- from a case I bought when I was working. Beyond my pocket now…
Enjoy your Chambolle, my friend, and a very pleasant Christmas Day. It’s a great festive photo.
Thank you, Meg! The Chambolle is for Christmas Day, and I hope we shall enjoy it! Have a lovely time yourself!
1999? If you still have one of those I will be interested to know what it tastes like.
Village Burgundy (as opposed to Premier or Grand Cru ) even from a good year doesn’t keep long. So no, that was all drunk years ago. Even a 1999 Grand Cru would be past it by now, I’m sure. Bordeaux is another matter – you can reckon on 25 years plus for the best vintages, from the best producers. Why were you asking, Jude?
Just wondering. I know very little about French wines, preferring the New World ones.
There we differ….I’m largely Old World!
Wonderful wines to celebrate. Merry Christmas, Sue.
They were! That’s a few years back, now!
Wishing you and yours a lovely Christmas, and here’s to a creative 2018
The holly and the ivy… 🙂 🙂 Merry Christmas, Sue!
Thank you! The Holly and the Ivy indeed, Jo! Are you settling. In for Christmas now? I’ve just been to the deli to collect my cheese order, and now I’m putting the coffee machine on….
Heavens! They were open at this time of day? Yes, I’m all done. When Michael finally stirs from bed we might have a walk out. Fabulous pink skies this morning. Got to put some beef in the slow cooker later. Might join you for coffee. Meantime, sending hugs 🙂 🙂
Teehee….it was quite funny. I had been told they were opening at 7.30, duly trotted along…I had been told the wrong time, but the manager let me in, and I certainly beat the queue!! Hugs to you , Jo, and have a relaxing day
