Ascend

A steep ascent from the lower town, seen in Zittau, soon after the fall of the Berlin Wall:

..and the ascent up a lot of steps to Cisniadora, in Romania

  1. I very much like these photos Sue 🙂

  2. Challenge nailed, Sue. And two ‘Ones’ into the bargain!
    Love the B&W shot.
    Best wishes, Pete.

  3. wow!! I especially love the monochrome!

  4. Ooh, that first one is sombre, Sue xx

  7. Absolutely love that first shot Sue – glad u used B&W, perfect!!

  8. Two Ones and two Ascends. You’re being very generous! The context you give for the first one – just after the fall of the Berlin Wall – gives resonance to the lonely figure, head bowed (and perfectly placed compositionally, may I say?) Is the second one useing a walking stick? I’d say about business, rather than pleasure? Two story-provoking photos, my dear Sue. Thank you.
