Just as I was lining up the arch in the Monastic gateway at Glendalough marvelling at the late afternoon light, a man walked into shot (would have been even better were he walking away from me, towards the light!!):

  1. You’re never satisfied. This is a lovely shot of light through an arch. Don’t quibble!

  2. Certainly adds to the composition

  3. It’s always good to keep challenging oneself but this is already a superb shot. Beautiful composition, Sue.

  4. i love this shot, man and all –

  5. I think it looks quite ominous, like the cover of a crime thriller, fab shot Sue.

  6. I like arches, trees, anything that basically surrounds, frames the topic. this is lovely Sue!

  7. Works for me, as he is nicely in silhouette. You always find them!
    Best wishes, Pete.

  8. He’s rather nice! And deep in thought, it seems. 🙂 🙂

  9. Broody, Sue… vampire in the shadows, perhaps?
Love the arch. Love the photo in fact! 😀

  10. You mean you didn’t ask him to turn around and walk away…just for the shot? I’m disappointed. 🙂

  11. I really like the shot, and I think the way he’s holding himself, especially the droop of his shoulders makes it more appropriate that he’s walking away from the light. 🙂

  12. Poor man he helped you create a great image and you wanted him to go away!

    • Sue

No,no,no! I just thought perhaps it would have looked better were he facing the other way! But I was very pleased he walked into shot when he did….soon after there was a whole g angle of people, just didn’t work at all!!

  13. Haha, know what you mean. But it’s wonderful as is. I am reminded of your ‘one’ series every time I capture a lone person in my frame 🙂
