  1. They look like large reels of golden cotton. Nice collection of patterns and shapes.

  2. Strange how they do these differently, in various regions. In this area, they mostly have rectangular bales. Then every now and again, we see circular ones like these.
In your shot they seem as if they are rolling down the slope, having a race!
    Best wishes, Pete.

Can’t say I’ve seen a rectangular bale, but have seen these all over this country, and in France. In Romania they were conical mounds.

  3. 🙂 🙂 🙂

  4. I wonder if they’d roll if there were an earthquake. 🙂 I used to see only rectangular bales here too, as Pete said, but now there I see more and more like these.

  5. Scintillating Sunday, Sue! 🙂 🙂

  6. Ah harvest time. The golden time of autumn. It takes me back to my farming days, but way back then the bales were all square.

  7. I’ve never managed to [photograph bales, I’m always driving. There’e place along the A35 where they can be seen on the side of a hill and it would be perfect.

This is only the second image of bales in a field that I have…the first taken in France years ago, and I stopped the car. This time I was being driven, Gilly

  8. Reminds me of my childhood when walking along the fields 🙂
