Here are a couple of images taken at the 6th Century monastic settlement in Glendalough, Co Wicklow, Ireland. The light was stunning on a late September afternoon. I posted my first image from this place a short while ago, and there will be still more to come. An enchanting, ancient place, I’m just sorry I didn’t have the energy to walk around a bit more.

I really like the shadows in both shots, Sue.
Best wishes, Pete.
Many thanks, Pete!
Lovely, Sue. Loved Glendalough.
I still wish I could have managed more…I didn’t see either of the lakes….
Did you go by car? We drove up and saw the lakes from there.
Well, my friend obviously didn’t go far enough!
Next time!
If there is a next time!
If you want to, there is!
😀😀
Gorgeous shots of this lovely place. I visited here a few years ago.
Many thanks, Julie. I was very lucky with the weather
Hi Sue, these are beautiful photos for this week Thanks ever so much for participating. 😀
You are most welcome, Cee!
Wonderful
Many thanks!
Love those old cemeteries, Sue, and this one’s a beauty.

It was, absolutely
Love the photos! It’s magic that the sun was there to make the photos magical.
It was just beautiful!
Beautiful, we visited a couple of years ago, so magical 🙂
Isn’t it just!
As it was my one and only trip to Ireland, north or south, and a day trip to boot 🙂 it certainly was 🙂
And you had good weather?
Well not to start with, we went over on the car ferry, and it was the worst storm in forty years, but by mid morning it was beautiful. The trip was work related in Dublin, but we had the afternoon and so it was perfect for visiting Glendalough, had a big smile on my face, just an amazing place 🙂
Brilliant!
🙂
Especially like the second one. 🙂 🙂 Somewhere I’d love to visit, Sue. You went without me 😦
It was a magical place, Jo…I’ll ask you next time!
Thank you! I’ll try and say yes 🙂 🙂
And I dunno if I’ll ever go back!
I know 🙂
😊
Beautiful
Thank you!
I would love to see it in person. Fascinating share, Sue.
The best two still to come, Paula!
