Still Life with Apples

I have been having a play around with some props today while the sun streamed through my lounge window. I had three apples which I hadn’t got around to cooking, so I decided to be creative.

It took a certain amount of fiddling around to get the items positioned in order to make the most of the light, but I was reasonably pleased…. the embossed word on the old tin box worked well, and I love that old Agfa Isolette.

Another one will be posted tomorrow!

  1. You’re so good at this, Sue. It gives me great pleasure to see what you come up with.

  2. Beautiful! And yes I love that camera 😍

  3. Another triumph. Is the camera still functional? And will the apples be stewed? The background is great too.

I remember seeing a 17th (?) century painting of less than perfect apples and being delighted with the reality of them.

Questions, questions! The camera is no longer functional, the apples will not be stewed, too much else to do, and what else was there? 😀 Oh yes, the imperfection of the apples…that’s what appealed. As you say, with dimples and blotches, you know they’re real!

  4. Looks so French, lovely 🙂

  5. That’s lovely Sue. How about chopping one of the apples in half? If you haven’t eaten them by now…

  6. I agree with Janet. Viewing on my phone so less than ideal. I’ll come back tomorrow xx

  7. Love the simplicity of the items but there is a complexity in the setting. Great photo!

  8. I really like this shot Sue. The composition is great, and I find myself wanting to create a story around these disparate items. 🙂

  9. And I did 🙂 🙂 Happy Wednesday, Sue!
