One / 116 and One / 117 One man and his flock

Some more images from way back…. Now, as with One / 115, there is not just one person present in my first photograph..but this man on his donkey is the dominant human, so I’m going to bend my rules….

In both these images, the sun is getting low in the sky, and we get the sense of heading home, firstly the sheep in the village:

….and now the goats on the remote hillside:

This second image had me thinking of a couple of lines from T S Eliot’s ‘Wasteland’-

“Your shadow in the morning striding behind you

Or your shadow in the evening rising to meet you;”

  1. I prefer piglets to goats. 🙂 Very nice images and words Sue.

  2. Nice old shots, with a warm feel for the subjects. (Your rules, so bend them if you want to)
    Best wishes, Pete.

  3. This is a very lovely series, Sue. Brimming with Greek essence.

  4. In other lands, and times. Lovely.

  5. Oh, you rulebreaker! 🙂 🙂 I love them, though. Very atmospheric.

Over to you...
